These stripey numbers were a bit of a side note to the up coming Winter 2017 collection. I showed a draped cardigan on the runway alongside other pieces with flaired sleeves. Simply, this is just the mish mash or rather my light bulb moment in realising the sleeves needed to meet the cardigan and have a happily ever after. No Grit No Pearl
Over the past two and a half years I’ve had the exciting, difficult and now sad task of opening and closing the Somerset Jane stores. Two beautiful and inspiring spaces that I poured my heart and soul into, and were for that time, the hub of all the label’s movements. They were the start of many changes and cemented the SJ brand on the local fashion scene. Or so I thought. Turns out, I am Somerset Jane, not the four walls it is housed in nor a sign outside a shop front. What I thought was ending was only just the beginning..

So this past week I had the idea to design a leather-moto inspired jacket in an easy wearing fabric. Reason being, I’m totally convinced that when the change of season comes around, we can all keep calm and utilise our Summer wardrobes all through the Winter with some simple smart layering.
Black Tank
So this is a super basic post about my fave and most basic black tank. Simple as they may be, these staples deserve a mention now and then. We were spending the day in Kalk Bay, Cape Town to shoot some outfits I had planned and this is just what I was wearing that day. The look is clean and true, detracted by nothing if my minimal accessorising and sunnies.
