IMG_20160601_141117black squiggle - Copy (3)Somerset Jane is super duper excited to announce the arrival of their newest collection at Convoy Shop in Melville! Look up, that’s us! Don’t miss this pop-up running June through August. For a view of this genius space housing six of the best local designers, (and now SJ!) I have a little teaser, or should I say taste.. SJ With A Difference

For the past few months Somerset Jane has been available at Burgundy Fly stores. Located in five of Gauteng’s best shopping malls, and available at their online store, they are easily accessible and most definitely worth a visit. SJ has found such success working with, and supplying this proudly local chain of stores.

Black To The Beach

On trying to make the most of a recent stay in Cape Town, we woke up early to shoot some looks at Muizenberg Beach. It ended up being so super windy (extremely annoying with short hair), that I ended up closer to the water than I’d like, with wind swept hair and a constant stream of tears from sand, wind and sea. I can complain ‘cos I’m not a model – insert smiley face. I’ve sat with these shots for a while now wandering if they really speak for the designs..

Here is Somerset Jane’s solution to that ‘in between season’ dilemma or the #autumnblues.. I get these mostly because I prefer Summer and then because I hate feeling flustered because of bad outfit calls. That wishing you had made a better choice for outer wear at 8am and 10 degrees, as you sit sweltering in 27 degree sun! So what is it? It’s not a jacket, hardly a coat, can’t be classed as a shawl – it’s simply a cover up. Best way to describe it.

Maximise

dress maxi 60001paint splashSo this past week I had the idea to design a leather-moto inspired jacket in an easy wearing fabric. Reason being, I’m totally convinced that when the change of season comes around, we can all keep calm and utilise our Summer wardrobes all through the Winter with some simple smart layering.

Black Tank

image four - Copy (2) So this is a super basic post about my fave and most basic black tank. Simple as they may be, these staples deserve a mention now and then. We were spending the day in Kalk Bay, Cape Town to shoot some outfits I had planned and this is just what I was wearing that day. The look is clean and true, detracted by nothing if my minimal accessorising and sunnies.
